The Home of Greenhill Miniatures
We are Peter and Gilly Greenhill and this is our home in
Bournemouth where we make heraldic miniature knights for collectors. These are two inch tin soldiers made of pewter, primarily of mediaeval figures from the hundred years war of the middle ages.
The pewter used is of very high quality, being a superior metal to lead for the casting of these model figures.
These may at a glance appear to be toy soldiers, but in fact were designed as models made for the connoisseur market early in the twentieth century by the late Richard Courtenay. We both love
collecting retrospective toys and are also fascinated by the colour and pageantry of heraldry.

It has always been the chivalry and heroics of the period that has engaged us rather than the gore of war which is absent from our painting. Our interest in miniature portraitures of knights and historic
personalities has helped to create our success in today's auction houses.
